What motivates you? What gets you excited every morning? Are you happy being where you are in your life at this particular moment and time? You must have a goal if you want to be economically successful in life. The earlier in life you determine what you really want to do, really want to become, the easier and more purposeful your journey will be to achieving success and finding your ideal vocation.
If you love, absolutely love what you are dong, chances are excellent that you will succeed. We tend to become productive in our choices of jobs when work is joy to us. If not, in order to find the ideal career that you're passionate about and love, you first have to understand yourself. What are your strengths and weaknesses, likes and dislikes? If you can't answer those questions, it will be nearly impossible to find a job that you will love and that will enhance your self-esteem. You will continue going through life just having a job, not a labor of love.
To be perfectly honest, the process to finding what you're passionate about and getting that ideal job doesn't happen overnight. You don't just wake up one day and say: I want to be a best-selling author. Although you may be in a job that you're not passionate about or your ideal dream job, most people have had other, often unrewarding or unpleasant job experiences before they found that ideal job or one they loved. I did not become a self-published author, speaker, publisher, coach and notary public overnight. It took me years of working at a job that I had out grown and were no longer passionate about working there day in and day out.
The key is to find the job that's well suited to your talents, and then it's easier to fall in love with it. Often we find that it's something in our past, some hobbies or work experience that leads to the idea for that ideal vocation that you love. If we continue to look for the opportunity that would allow us to fully utilize our talents, we could do well in not just finding but in landing our ideal vocation. I was very passionate about writing, storytelling and helping others in life. Being a writer may sound like a lot of work for a long time, but I truly love what I'm doing, and I'm never bored. Time and work hours pass quickly when you're having fun.
I don't have any regrets of my previous experiences working as a Cash Office Manager at Burdines or being a Miami-Dade Correctional Officer because today, I know they helped conceptualize my ideal vocation. It took some experiences with situations that were less than ideal to motivate me to find out just what I was passionate about in life and pursue it.
The reason’s that I've achieved success is due to my determination and hard work. I had to become "really focused" if I had any chance of being successful. You must be an opportunist. I believe everyone has an opportunity to get into business and sometimes it's staring you in the face. But fear of the unknown prevents us from moving forward and seizing the opportunity that presents itself. Belief in one’s ability to succeed is a very big foundation stone. Belief in oneself is a direct result of knowing the odds are stacked in one's favor. You have to have something inside of you that wants to be successful and you go out there and take that opportunity, that chance and I believe if you put forth the necessary and consistent effort, you can achieve it.
