If you could have any one thing in life, absolutely anything, what would it be? Good health, a better job? Prosperity? A long life? Get married? Better looks? A better marriage? What? What?

If you think about it for just a second… no matter which answer you choose, I could point out someone who has exactly what you want and yet is unhappy and probably miserable.

You probably think I’m foolish to choose…HAPPINESS. For me, happiness is a heartfelt joy like no other. Happiness is something that’s consistent, persistent, and lasting and that’s why I made the choice to be happy.

Remember acquiring anything that lacks eternal purpose or value is empty in its power to provide true happiness. No matter what material things that you and I acquire in life, they will soon lose their appeal, and temporary happiness they provided us will subside.

I honestly believe we should be happy and grateful for a wealth of things in our lives and days that we take completely for granted. I can tell you this…if you just read this message, thank God for life.

We sometimes say things before we think. It's easy saying things that are hurtful to others, whether we say it to their face or behind their back. We can choose our words wisely and refuse to take part in gossip and avoid using words that will hurt others.

We can place negative words with positive ones. Instead of joining in on the gossip about another person, say a few positive things about them. Once words leave our LIPS, they can never be retracted. Never tear others down---rather, build them up.

I had the pleasure of working along with Laura Ferrell on her book project. Her soft, reassuring and angelic voice grew stronger and more passionate as she shared with me countless times about her life experiences and her love for God. I truly hope you will read her amazing life story about a woman after God's heart and lost everything in the process, but never turned away from God and gained more than she could ever hope for and more.

I've read this book several times and it has truly impacted me, my family, my home, and my love for God. My life has truly been changed and the blessings continue to amaze me at every corner I turn. My hopes are that you will read and reread, this book to bless and encourage you and your family on your journey in life. Laura's desire is to do God's will and help others. It's amazing after reading her testimony that I long to grow more and more with each passing day. I don't dare want to miss God's best because of choices that I have made that's not pleasing to Him.

Laura, I constantly remind myself when things don't always go as planned, "it is what it is" just pray about it and let it go. Thank you for teaching me to spend more time in solitude, so that my roots will continue to grow deep into Him. Real change began when I started praying more and waiting on God to lead and direct me on the path He chose for me. You can purchase her book at

We have the ability to change anything that we desire to change that we have come to believe about ourselves. If we continue telling ourselves that we can’t change, overcome, or accomplish the things we hoped for in life, we will continue to be a victim of our beliefs. We have the power to reprogram our mindsets and change if we’re willing to put in the necessary work.

It’s time to make a commitment to yourself and believe that you have the ability to start right now letting go of the excuses that continues to disinfect your mind. What are you going to do differently in the coming year? Are you going to let defeating thoughts continue to keep you stuck and feeling powerless? I believe using positive proclamations, trust, affirmations, and daily prayer all help connect us to this higher reality beyond our immediate concerns and disbeliefs.

As 2015 is quickly approaching us, it’s time to take responsibility for the choices we make in life, what we have come to believe about ourselves and who we choose to become in the process. It’s time to “Rise Up 4 Change" and elevate your life, rather than listening to the negative thoughts that cause you to become stagnate, withdrawn, fearful, doubtful, and filled with blame and excuses. Remember the only choice you don’t have control over is when the Savior calls you home.

It's time you start telling yourself that you deserve love, honor, and respect and stop settling for anything less. WOW! I had to repeat this several times for myself as well. Sometimes, we can get caught up or distracted by others and lose the opportunity truly to be at one with ourselves. We tend to make unwise choices, not only in our relationships but in life as well. Don't view yourself as being flawed because something didn't quite work out, it may simply mean that you have learned what you needed to learn, and now it is time to let go and move on.

Difficulties in life are inevitable for all of us. The question is, what will we do with them? If we had a choice, we’d probably choose to go through life without any struggles. Who wouldn’t want life to be easier? But like it or not, I have learned that our struggles actually serve a purpose in life. They help us to grow more into ourselves and develop into stronger, wiser, and more faithful people.

Only you can be the creator and designer of your life and your relationships. We need to know where we are going and what we want, so we can get there. Obviously, you can't create something, or arrive if you don't know what it is or where you want to be. Live by fully breathing in and out each day, instead of waiting to exhale until everything is exactly as you want it. All that we have to do is follow our own individual calling, pursue it with incredibly hard work, dedication and ensure that it helps other people. That is no more and no less than what is required for each of us to achieve our greatest potential and build a meaningful legacy.

Would it be too much of a stretch to say that at one time or another, we all do or have felt overstretched, unbalanced, and imperfect? Wearing so many hats, I believe we often feel as though we don’t measure up to people’s expectations, whether perceived or real. Do you feel ‘imperfect” too?

Let me start off by saying that, life isn’t perfect. Our circumstances in life aren’t perfect. And I would like to add people aren’t perfect, including you and I. I’m thankful God is a perfect fit for our imperfections and He is able to provide the strength and support we need in order for us to be more accepting of our imperfections and mistakes.

Some people believe their source of strength comes from within themselves, and certainly as human beings we have certain innate abilities; but in our own strength alone we will always fall short. It we truly want to accomplish Great and mighty things that have eternal value, we must fill our lives with the perfect power source. As the apostle Paul said, “Christ in you” is the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27).

He is more than able to work in us and through us, despite our imperfections. It’s easy to put our hope in ourselves. But the Bible says the Lord delights in those who fear him and their hope in Him. We know that He sees a much bigger picture than we ever could.

The Good Lord can make you anything you want to be, but you have to put everything in His hands.

Mahalia Jackson

If you are reading this, the good news is that you're still here! You have the opportunity to edit your life into what you want it to be. Don't strive for being the perfect person, Jesus is that person and you're setting yourself up for disappointment and failure. Don't quit. Stand strong and fight the good fight of faith and work towards becoming and living your best life.

It always seems to amaze me that through our struggles trials and tribulations that we find ourselves growing stronger. Don't panic or fret, for you are still here and perhaps with a little patience’s, determination and much prayer you will become your best in due time. Don't place limits on yourself and sometimes, we need to get out of our own way. It's time to let go of the weights that's holding you down and step out on faith with a willing heart.

There's no greater time than right now to have a made up mind and live your life with excitement and enthusiasm. Don't take this day or any other for granted any longer. Don't take your life for granted. If you seek change, start expecting change and hold on to your faith for God can do what no other man can do. It's our faith that activates the power of God.

It’s time we take a stand for ourselves and give ourselves love, attention, compassion, and forgiveness that we willingly give to others. I’ve made a promise to myself to remember to love myself every day for the rest of my life. I’m talking about a love that’s not based on conditions, success achievements, rewards, mistakes, guilt, or self-pity. We don’t need someone’s approval or permission to love ourselves unconditionally. Never allow anyone to make you feel guilty, indifferent, selfish, ashamed, or become apologetic for taking care of you and for once learning to put yourself first.

It all begins with you, and if you’re not happy with yourself, then how can you expect anyone else to? There’s no better time than right here and now to make a personal commitment to putting yourself first and keeping that token of self-love alive not just for a day, but everyday within your heart, soul, and mind, so that each of your relationships reflects that same genuine and unwavering respect and unconditional love.

Allow today to mark a turning point in your life. My hopes are that you will come to realize the power of love you possess within you. It’s alright to say yes, to being in love with the person staring back at you in the mirror. It’s one thing to say, “I love you,” but to act on that love is the true test, and it’s where the true power lies.

You are a beacon of love. Keep shining!

Herbert Otto states: “Only in a continuing relationship is there a possibility for love to become deeper and fuller so that it envelops all of our life and extends into the community.”

Because He said it, I want to be obedient and walk in love! “Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.” (Matthew 22:39), so start doing it. We can all make a quality decision today: I will walk in love! We can't be ignorant of Satan's devices that he constantly uses to separate us. Just think of all the stress we could avoid if we were quick to forgive. We'd be so healthy--both physically and spiritually! Our bodies weren't made to live with hostility flowing through them. They were designed to live according to love.

So why don't we all constantly walk in love? We become blinded by someone's ignorance and wrapped up in the old, worldly habits of thinking and reacting. As long as we continue to live from the outside, we will continue to be divided and filled with anger and hatred. When we began living from the inside where God (Who is love) dwells, we would learn to walk in love. We can renew our mind at any time according to the Word and what it says about love. In short, we can make a choice today to walk in forgiveness and live in love!

Our self - image is important so work towards building a good one and you will be able to build whatever you do professionally in life bigger, better, and faster. When we can accept ourselves, with our own faults and shortcomings, it's much easier for us to understand and communicate with other people. I've learned throughout my journey to listen closely and don't be so quick to judge others without seeking understanding.

I'm here to tell you that regardless where you are in your life professionally, and regardless of what your self- image might be at this moment, I believe there’s someone and including myself in this world that have walked in your shoes and felt your feelings. I believe we're all trying to reach a certain destination in our lives and I believe we've all experienced days of frustration, uncertainty, fear, discouragement, financially strapped, or had more doubts about what tomorrow will bring. But I will leave you with this one; there is hope for you and me. Yes, we can actually help ourselves!

1. Set Goals- Know what you want to be, to do and to have in life.

2. Take some type of action every day. Make the necessary adjustments and improvements to achieve your goals.

3. Create a game plan for reaching your goals. List each step to follow to reach your goal.

4. Believe that you can and you will achieve your goals.

5. Remember to remain a positive attitude at all times, regardless of the obstacles you may encounter.

6. Act with confidence, have faith and be persistent and determined. Use positive affirmations, and visualize yourself of accomplishing your goals, and use audio to keep you motivated and to program your mind.

7. Focus, focus and focus your thoughts and energy on the things you want to achieve.

8. Keep on learning to continue growing.

9. When circumstances change which is very likely, be flexible and change to new approaches to adjust to those new conditions.

Trust me; you're on your way to making things happen!!

Its hope, like nothing else in the world, inspires us and motivates us to keep going. The strength of hope lies in what it hopes in--- how strong it is depends on what it is connected to. So hold on and don't give up the very thing that you're hoping for to come your way!

When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hang on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.

Harriet Beecher Stowe

Even though you have yet to see it or receive the thing you're hoping for and long to see, it isn't over just yet! Even though you can't see how things can be fixed, or turned around, or how any good could possibly come from the situation you are in, it may well turn out to be the very best thing of all. Hope is not just looking for it with your eyes; we must look for it with our hearts and have a little faith.

Continue to awaken to the very things you hope for and keep your passion alive.

The greatest of all MISTAKES is to do nothing because you think you can do only a little. In giving, we get the opportunity to sample the "gift of giving fragrance" that makes us feel really good about ourselves. We feel better about us and help others around us to feel better. In making a difference in our community and the world, everyone is more powerful and more OK when we commit and act.

I am forming a "Giving from My Heart” Team, and I wonder if you would agree to serve and support me in my efforts to help others.” In return, I promise that you will experience undeniable JOY and your commitment will make a difference and have a major impact in the lives of many that are in dire need of our help. I want, need and choose you. Will you give me the opportunity to work with you? As a team, we can become a world of positive change in action as we light up the life of everyone we touch.

I would like each individual to commit to spending only $10.00 on non-perishable food items, toiletries, sheets, blankets, toys, school supplies etc. to give to a needy cause. If you’re not able to purchase items, you can donate items from home as long as they’re clean and in good condition. I'm not asking you to send me the money, I want you to personally go out and make the purchase yourself and lavish in that feeling that comes from purchasing and giving to someone that's in dire need. I want you to know exactly where your donation is going and the impact it's going to have on someone’s life. If you're located in a different city and state you can still participate on February 15, 2014 by finding a shelter near you or you can send the items to the address listed below for this project and I will provide you with a receipt for tax purposes. Please take a photo of yourself and of your purchases or items from home to display on the website and for other social media networking sites to show our adopted day of spreading love over the entire universe, or you can remain anonymous if you desire.

Our goals at “Rise Up 4 Change” are to unite businesses and communities together throughout the world to invest in our youth, younger adults and charity organizations. It is possible to do a lot with a little, and it’s possible to evoke positive change when the world stands as one. I need your help in working with me to make this a success. I believe all it takes is one person's effort to help someone else, and we can create a world of change.

Please register today:

I will be in attendance at Chapman Partnership Empowering the Homeless on February 15, 2014 at 10:00a.m.-12:00p.m. 28205 SW 124 Court, Homestead, Florida 33033 and Chapman Partnership at 3:00p.m. – 5:00p.m. 1550 North Miami Avenue, Miami, Florida 33136. I’m looking forward to meeting and greeting each and every one. I will be giving away a few “Rise Up 4 Change” autographed T-shirts books, and a gift basket by me for those participating.

I plan to make an investment but it’s not going to be in material things. The investment is going to be in me. No longer do I desire to invest in things and not in myself. Instead of investing in things that bring temporary fulfillment, I’m going to commit to investing in me. You can let your fears keep you from growing, or you can let your fears inspire you to grow.

I’ve decided it’s time for a change to better my physical and mental wellbeing and the time is now. I’m not going to just talk about change; I’m going to be about change. We can spend this moment, next week, month, or year talking about the changes we’re going to make, but talk is cheap without action and results. It’s time to show yourself some love. Value the person staring back at you in the mirror and take care of you.

Today is the day of personal commitment to love yourself some you and stop giving your time and energy away to things and people that will never truly see your worth. All Rise!

Desire it, chase it, and want it bad enough to know that peace is yours to have. Today, I am happy and content, although I still work towards changing the things I can and I have learned to accept the things I cannot. My life journey and constant search for answers has taught me that inner peace is not something we achieve in life and then remain feeling that way forever. Peace comes in moments throughout our lives. It is my deepest hope that whatever might be keeping you from feeling inner peace and contentment, you will find a solution and inspiration to move forward in your own journey towards healing.

Some moments come along and your world—your life—changes. Something shifts inside and everything’s the same yet somehow different. I believe there are angels in the world today. Sometimes someone comes into your life and helps you to breathe for the first time, see things in a different light, think with clarity and give your life meaning with truth, joy and sparks of love. Often times, we never see it coming. But it also happens when we need it the most in our lives. Today, I challenge you to PRESS on and continue moving forward and working towards finding your peace. It is important that you press persistently. Make a self-commitment to never give up and that you will keep going no matter what comes your way.

Peace and Success will be yours when you decide to take action against the problems, trials and tribulations that come your way.

Reaching out and helping others is what makes us stronger. The power of giving and service can change the world--one child, adult, family and community at a time. "The measure of a life, after all, is not its duration, but its donation.” I did something different this year on "Christmas Eve" and it turned out to be the best Christmas ever. I went out and purchase a few toys, toiletries, food items, Bibles, and added clothing and shoes from home and my family and went to a homeless shelter to lift up and brighten their Christmas. I can't truly express in mere words the heartfelt joy that I received on this day with the countless warm hugs and embrace. It's truly about what we can give to others and the world that gives us the greatest joy; it's something that money can't buy when you give from the heart. It's a prime example of what "Rise Up4 Change" is all about for me and it deals with the heart, mind, and soul.

I believe we all have the potential to do something great. We may not be able to change the world with our hard work and efforts, but we can work towards changing ourselves and those around us. My heart desire is to leave a legacy of caring about others with my heart and reminding them that their life matters. I firmly believe if we all pitched in and devoted ourselves to helping out in our community, we can create a world of making others better and one where there's no one left behind or forgotten.

My plans are to start a drive this coming February 2014 called "My Giving Heart" I'm looking for a team to join me in giving to the homeless, abused, orphanage or we can take a vote on the needs of an organization. I would like each individual to commit to spending only $10.00 on food items, toiletries, toys, school supplies etc. to give to a needy cause. I'm not asking you to send me the money, I want you to personally go out and make the purchase yourself and lavish in that feeling that comes from purchasing and giving to someone that's in dire need. I want you to know exactly where your donation is going and the impact it's going to have on someone’s life. If you're located in a different city and state you can still participate by sending the items to the address listed for this project. Please take a photo of yourself and of your purchases to be added to the website. I believe all it takes is one person's effort to help someone else, and we can create a world of change.

Please continue to check back as I continue to post and add more information as the time nears for "My Giving Heart." If you are interested in making a commitment with me, please sign up with your contact information at and I will add your name to the list. Your contact information will not be shared with anyone other than me, so we can communicate and I will keep you informed. Also, you will receive a donation receipt with your items listed for tax purposes. Remember, there is so much power in helping others. Help me to mark this day for you can never know just how much your help means until you see the effect that it has on others.

Lets get the New Year started right! Get on board with the "My Giving Heart" movement.

For Christmas is a time to celebrate faith and family. Love your friends and family with your entire being, for they are the most important part of your life. Count your blessings and remember to practice being patient and gentle as you live in these moments.

The holiday season is upon us. It is often a time of uplifted spirits, good times, and closeness to those people who are most important to us. The holiday season can bring with it stress that is not found during other times of the year. The financial pressures of shopping and affording gifts are common to just about all of us. Set a budget for yourself and remember you give from the heart SOMETHING THAT CAN'T BE BOUGHT and not so much from your pocket. Give to those you love; your time, a listening ear, a heart-to-heart conversation, and a warm loving embrace.

The holidays can be impactful for a variety of reasons, and it's sometimes up to us to make it the best time of the year that it can be. Please remember to reach out and help those less fortunate than you and those that are enduring hardships during this time, those that have lost a loved one, homeless, children that are living in the orphanage, single and without children, and those that have family who are simply apart from them in different parts of the world. Once again the time is here to "deck the halls" in joyful celebration, by shedding love and light on others.

Make this Holiday season one of Celebration and Joy as you reflect and remember who you are and just how blessed you are to be alive and have a loving and supportive family, good friends and colleagues. Be good to yourself, be good to and for each other, and enjoy the time and blessings that we've received during the year AND NOT JUST ON THIS DAY. Have a Very Merry Christmas!
