Would it be too much of a stretch to say that at one time or another, we all do or have felt overstretched, unbalanced, and imperfect? Wearing so many hats, I believe we often feel as though we don’t measure up to people’s expectations, whether perceived or real. Do you feel ‘imperfect” too?
Let me start off by saying that, life isn’t perfect. Our circumstances in life aren’t perfect. And I would like to add people aren’t perfect, including you and I. I’m thankful God is a perfect fit for our imperfections and He is able to provide the strength and support we need in order for us to be more accepting of our imperfections and mistakes.
Some people believe their source of strength comes from within themselves, and certainly as human beings we have certain innate abilities; but in our own strength alone we will always fall short. It we truly want to accomplish Great and mighty things that have eternal value, we must fill our lives with the perfect power source. As the apostle Paul said, “Christ in you” is the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27).
He is more than able to work in us and through us, despite our imperfections. It’s easy to put our hope in ourselves. But the Bible says the Lord delights in those who fear him and their hope in Him. We know that He sees a much bigger picture than we ever could.
